Oobleck!

Hello, We wanted to make something really cool today and I saw on a TV programme that my Mum and Dad let me watch this stuff being made. It is called Oobleck. On the TV programme the man was trying to make a bed out of it, but it didn't work very well, so he made a wooden willow one instead. Oobleck is really fun to play with - if you hit it fast it feels hard and solid, but if you don't move on it then you sink into it. I saw a video of some people running across it even, but if they stopped moving they sunk into it - like quicksand. So I wanted to make some too. I wanted to make enough to fill our bathtub but Mum said we didn't have enough cornflour.     Hi Kate and Tom and Meg! Thanks for your awesome video of you playing with oobleck. Tom I really liked how you showed us how hard it was when you hit it! We are going to go and buy some cornflour to make our own oobleck this week.

    Kate I really like your new haircut - like me! Oobleck looks really really cool and we want to make some today - we have to go have a look in the cupboard first to see if we have enough cornflour!
