Beach day

Yesterday we went to the beach. We went with Emma and Amy. They are our friends. Amy is the mum and Emma is the big girl.
We had a long walk to the beach. The sand was really really really hot. Then we put some towels down so it wasn't so hot.

After we played in the water we got all black with the sand.

Here I am making a crazy pirate face
After we had a nice block and some hot chips. It was very special.
I had a sleep in the car on the way home.

Sunday on Mana

We thought we lost Brodie this morning. Me and my Mum looked everywhere. We found Brodie in the garden eating peas. It was so funny.

This is a juvenile shag. That means he is a kid like us. Shags dive for their food. They roost on the big old macrocarpa tree by our beach.

It was so hot on the beach today. We had to come back inside because I was too hot. Brodie chased me down the beach with a dead seagull. It was so funny.

We have so many paua shells on our beach. I collect them. I like to paint them for my garden.

These are my seedlings for my garden. I have a children's garden. My mum helps me with it.

This is my Mum sneaking on my Dad's work computer. She is helping me write this.

Was it really hot at your house today? I am going up the hill with my Dad now to check on the Takahe that he is going to catch in pens. I am going for a swim when we get back .We have eagle rays in our water.

Max and the animals.

Hi Everyone! Today Max has had a lot of fun playing with the animals. It is his favourite thing to do.

Here he is on his tractor watching them eat. The sheeps name is Custard. Max fed him with a bottle from when he was only a few days old. Now he is grown up.
There are three pigs and eight chickens.

Here is a picture of Cecil the pig. He sits when you tell him to, like a dog. He looks like he is smiling in this picture.

This is our favourite chicken. Her name is Milkies Daughter. Our friend Dawn gave her to us for a Christmas present. She is sitting on 10 eggs and soon she will hatch baby chickens.

Here is a picture of Max walking through the grass to feed the animals. Can you see him?

Max is holding a bucket of food. Can you see Custard the sheep in the background?

backyard

Daisy and Olive had been unwell recently but they were well enough to have a little play in their sandpit yesterday.  They got the sandpit, and the toys in it for Christmas.  We took some photos of our backyard for you guys to look at too.  You can see the washing hanging on the line, and our vege garden, and our sandpit.  If you look closely you can see a big pile of sticks in the second picture.  This is from when Dad and Uncle James cut down a big dead tree with a chainsaw.  One day we will clear it away and put a chicken run where it is, and have chickens.

Moogoo

This is our friend Moogoo. She is a gecko from out old back yard. Mum caught her in a magnifying jar.  We examined her.

Her skin looked shiny. She had little eyes. I could see her breathing. When we finished looking at her we put her back outside to be with her family. With her mummy and daddy because she is a baby and she needs a mummy and daddy, so she went back to them. Her mummy's name is Pinky and her dads name is Greenie.
I like geckos. This is another lizard I saw at the zoo. It is a tuatara. I can't remember it's name. It is lovely.
Bye from Margaux.
Olive says "Me paint".  She isn't painting though, she is drawing on the magnadoodle.

This is a picture of Daisy and Olive on their little couch.  Daisy is playing the Ukelele for Olive

Do you remember this Finn? this is Daisy and Finn by the campfire.

Hello World!

Hi! This is me, Max. I am turning two years old in ten days time. I am going to go on a big overnight hiking trip with my Mum and Dad to celebrate.

Every morning my job is to go and get all the eggs that our chickens lay. This morning there was only three! Never mind, Mum says that is enough for us to bake a banana cake this afternoon. Yummy!

Right now my favourite game is PIRATES. I am pretending this bit of wood is a sword. I chased my mum all around the garden! Today we are going to build a pirate ship and float it down the river, I can't wait!

Hello!

This is a picture of Daisy.  She is pretending to be a bear. She is 3 and a half.

This is a picture of Olive.  She is 1 and a half.  She is Daisy's little sister.

Introducing!

This is Margaux and Frankie. They are 4 and 2 years old. They are sisters.

They just moved into a new house in Auckland with their mum and cat and are enjoying discovering all the cool new things in their big yard.
